RES development results in Russia to be presented at All Renewable World Energy (ARWE) 2019 Forum in Ulyanovsk

All Renewable World Energy 2019 Forum will be held in Ulyanovsk on May 22-24 with support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Roscongress Foundation and ULNANOTECH Ulyanovsk Technology Transfer Center. The Forum’s Organizing Committee met in Moscow to discuss preparation and realization of the event under the chairmanship of Ulyanovsk Region Governor Sergey Morozov.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Russian Association of Wind Power Industry Chairman (RAWI) Igor Bryzgunov, JSC Elektrifikatsiya General Director Vladimir Zatynayko, Ulyanovsk Region Digital and Technology Development Advisor to Governor Vadim Pavlov, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Renewable Energy Development Association (REDA), Global Energy Association, HSE NRU Center for Renewable Energy Development, JSC SO UPS, Non-profit Partnership Solar Energy Industry Enterprises Association, as well as the leading energy sector companies: JSC NovaWind (Rosatom), Vestas Rus LLC, Fortum PJSC.

The participants discussed organizational arrangements and the Forum’s business agenda, and proceeded to assess its overall preparedness status and to approve Volga-Sport-Arena as the main venue of the event. ARWE 2019 plenary session will be dedicated to power generation support measures based on RES use. The Forum’s agenda will also include outlining the key stages of components localization for wind power generators in Russia and improvement of coordination between suppliers and key customers of the industry.

The Region’s Head and ARWE 2019 Organizing Committee Chairman said that over the recent years Ulyanovsk Region has significantly progressed in renewable energy sector development through proactive involvement in “unpacking” the wind power generation market: draft legislation proposals were made, technology partners were attracted, and comfortable environment was created for investor activity in the region’s territory.

“Through ARWE we intend to establish a permanent discussion and expert platform on renewable energy sources in Ulyanovsk. It will be a standalone platform on the narrow topic of alternative power generation rather than a part of other energy- and energy efficiency-related forums,” commented Sergey Morozov, emphasizing that the Forum’s agenda will give a clear overview of the results of RES development available in the Region and Russia to date.

“ARWE Forum is held for the second time, but it is the first time that it receives such a solid support from the region. Evidently Ulyanovsk region has become a launchpad for RES development countrywide,” shared JSC Elektrifikatsiya General Director Vladimir Zatynayko. “More than 500 guests are invited to participate in the Forum: they are representatives of energy companies from Russia and abroad, market regulators, investors, analysts, and experts.”

“ARWE 2019 International Forum will be held in the form of a three-days exhibition. On top of the exhibits, we will offer an eventful business agenda based on the ongoing global changes in RES market,” said RAWI Chairman Igor Bryzgunov in his speech.

The Forum is organized by JSC Elektrifikatsiya, one of the major Russian congress&expo project operators, and Russian Association of Wind Power Industry (RAWI). On the part of Ulyanovsk Region, preparation and realization will be coordinated by the Technology Development Agency of the region.

Back in May 2018, at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Ulyanovsk Region Government and JSC Elektrifikatsiya signed a cooperation agreement on organization and implementation of the major international renewable energy forum ARWE 2019 in the region’s territory.
