The All Renewable World Energy International Forum Begins Work in Ulyanovsk on May 22



ARWE 2019, the All Renewable World Energy International Forum will take place in Ulyanovsk on May 22–24, 2019 at ULNANOTECH Center of Nanotechnologies. The event is organized by the Government of Ulyanovsk Region, the Russsian Association of Wind Industry (RAWI), and Elektrifikatsiya JSC with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Roscongress Foundation and ULNANOTECH. The event will be attended by more than 350 delegates, representatives of Russian and foreign energy companies, market regulators, investors, analysits and experts from 11 countries of the world.

The Forum will open with a Plenary Session entitled "The Future of Renewable Energy Sources in Russia," attended by Sergey Morozov, the Governor of Ulyanovsk Region.

"ARWE is a forum dedicated to "green" energy, and it will be the first event of its kind in the country. ARWE 2019 will become the largest RES sector event in Russia and the FSU countries," the Governor of Ulyanovsk Region said in his welcome remarks. "Ulyanovsk Region is the base territory for development of the cutting edge renewable energy industry in Russia, from training human resources to producing technical equipment of wind parks. We regard the renewable energy sector as a powerful stimulus for economic development. This is why it is very important for us to exchange experiences with leading specialists working in this sector."

The main issues to be discussed by the participants of the Forum during the sessions and roundtable discussions: The future of renewable energy sources and implementation of the localization program for RES equipment on the Russian market, financing of RES investment projects, and "underwater currents" in construction of wind parks, effectiveness of solar technologies worldwide and the potential of green energy within the framework of regional policy, RES for isolated and Arctic territories, and microgeneration with use of RES, etc. The first day of the Forum will see the presentation of the Golden Wind Prize for considerable contribution to development of the Russian sector of wind industry.

The ARWE 2019 Forum will also include a panel discussion, entitled "Russia and Ratification of the Paris Agreement: Potential influence on the development of the sector in Russia," with participation of representatives of the Association of Renewable Energy Sources (ARES), the Energy Institute of the HSE, the Russian office of Greenpeace, the International Center of Sustainable Development of Energy under the auspices of UNESCO, the German embassy in Moscow, and others.

An exhibition of new technologies in the sphere of making solar modules, making and servicing of wind electric stations, logistical services for enterprises of petrochemical and energy sectors, etc. During the exhibition representatives of different companies will consult local residents on using solar panels and mobile wind energy generators in their homes. Free buses to the exhibition venue will depart every thirty seconds from Hilton Garden Inn and Ibis hotels in Ulyanovsk.

The three-day ARWE 2019 Forum will be completed with a Youth Program with participation of students from leading universities of Ulyanovsk Region. The following events have been planned for Youth Day on May 24: a meeting with inventors of the first Russian solar car, lectures from leading international experts, an exhibition of electric cars. A key event of the day will be the informal meeting with Sergey Morozov, the Governor of Ulyanovsk Region, where participants will be able to ask him questions regarding support of science and inventions in the region.
