The first wind energy cluster in Russia planned for creation in Ulyanovsk Region



Head of the region, Sergey Morozov, said that for his region it will become an additional resource in development of innovative production.

The unique wind energy cluster, of which there will be no analogs anywhere in Russia, will be created in Ulyanovsk Region, Gov. Sergey Morozov of Ulyanovsk Region said at the Plenary Session of the ARWE (All Renewable World Energy) International Forum in Ulyanovsk.

"We are very motivated, and we are working hard to implement this project, form the first fully-fledged wind energy cluster in Russia; we see it as one of the most advanced projects not only in the CIS but throughout Eastern Europe," he said.

In the opinion of the Governor, this will become a step toward creating a fully-fledged R&D renewable energy sector in Russia. "For this country it will become a venue for joint projects with Russian and foreign science centers, <...>, this is an opportunity to pilot important technologies and projects related to renewable energy and NTI projects," he added.

The Governor also said that for Ulyanovsk Region it was an additional resource in the sphere of developing innovative high-tech productions and various other processes in the economy.
