Two more wind parks to be built in Ulyanovsk Region



Construction of two wind parks is being planned in the next several years in Ulyanovsk Region, where two analogous facilities have been created, Governor Sergey Morozov of Ulyanovsk Region told the press on the sidelines of the All Renewable World Energy (ARWE) on Wednesday.

"We have already created two wind parks with the total capacity of 85 MW. Today these two wind parks allow us to sell "clean" energy to 23,000 households. Ahead of us we have construction of two more wind parks with almost the same total capacity," head of the region said.

The agreement on construction of the first of the two wind parks was signed on Wednesday at the forum between EAB New Energy Company (Germany), the Government of Ulyanovsk The wind park's capacity will reach 75 MW, the proposed amount of investments will be at least RUB 6.5 bilion, the project is expected to be commissioned into operation before the end of 2020.

The next wind park will be created in Nikolaevsky District, on the border with Penza Region. "We plan yet another wind park in Novoulyanovsky City District," he said without specifying the exact dates for building the facility.
